We remember their loss. We uphold their strength. We are forever grateful.

Today, we reflect upon the sacrifices made by the courageous warfighters who lost their lives aboard Extortion 17 on August 6, 2011.

This incident continues to be a solemn reminder of these service members’ unwavering commitment to duty, often in the face of grave danger.

As the "Father of Naval Combat Demolition Units," Kauffman’s work laid the foundation for the Navy SEALs, changing the course of military history forever. His legacy of courage and innovation lives on!

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Special Warfare Combat Crewman (SWCC) Creed—a defining statement that has shaped the identity, values, and standards of the warriors who operate Naval Special Warfare’s combatant craft.

Today, as Naval Special Warfare navigates a Maritime Century, the Creed remains a guiding force for its boat operators. It’s the benchmark that every SWCC holds themselves to, a daily reminder that high standards aren’t optional—they’re expected.

SWCC members don’t just recite it. They live it. They preach it. They hold each other accountable to meet it.

Today, we honor the immense courage and sacrifice of the service members lost during Operation Red Wings on June 28, 2005. Twenty years ago, these brave warriors faced unimaginable challenges in the mountains of Afghanistan. Their dedication and valor will never be forgotten. Let us remember their names and the legacy of service they left behind.

81 years ago, the largest invasion force in history landed on the beaches of Normandy. Today we commemorate the bravery and devotion to duty of those heroes who prepared for and fought in D-Day.

Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence!

On Thursday, Naval Special Warfare Group ONE proudly celebrated 50 years of service to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Special Operations Command! The ceremony brought together representation of SEALs, civilians, and combat support from nearly every era.
