At yesterday’s Degree Recognition Ceremony, graduates joining in person and virtually were presented with certificates of recognition by Brig. Gen. David C. Hyman, the commanding general of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region.

Within the past year, over 62 Marines across MCRD San Diego and WRR have advanced their education with the help of tuition assistance.

We’re looking for volunteer coaches for the 2026 MCRD and San Diego Padres Rookie League. No experience needed, training provided. Must have base access.

The FREE Padres Rookie League runs July 11-Aug 8. Weekly evening practice, Saturday games, coed and recreational.

Open to DoW authorized baseball/softball players (ages 5-15) with base access. Space is limited. Parents must remain in line of sight.

Yesterday’s Devil Pups Fun Day, hosted by Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) brought a little Marine Corps motivation to MCRD San Diego. Our Devil Pups learned commands, participated in a Moto Run and mock CFT, watched an exciting K9 demo, got creative with crafts, and more.

🏐 It’s true…2nd Battalion is in the lead for the CG Cup overall, but the standings are still close! With nine more CG Cup events left this year, there’s still plenty of time for any unit to take first place.

The next CG Cup event is Sand Volleyball! Submit your 6-person roster (4 players + 2 subs) by June 25 to [email protected].

The event will be held on June 30 at the Boathouse & Marina, with check-in beginning at 10:00 am.

Open to MCRD active duty, their spouses, and DoD employees permanently assigned to MCRD.

MCCS MCRD SD - Semper Fit

Thank you to everyone who joined today’s Playgroup! The theme today was Water and Sunshine! 💧☀️

Playgroup meets at the Library on the 3rd Monday of every month from 9:00 am - 10:00 am for interactive play and hands-on sensory activities. Caregiver participation is required.

Open to families with children ages 0 through school age, with different activities available for each age group.
