USS Germantown (L*D 42) Decommissioning Cruisebook 2026 05/14/2026

Good Morning, friends and family of GERMANTOWN!

Thank you for your responses to our post about the Memory Book. Because we have received such a positive reception, we will now be going forward with its creation! Of course, a Memory Book wouldn’t be possible without the recollections of GERMANTOWN’s Sailors throughout the years. If you have any pictures that you would like to submit, please email [email protected] with the year and backstory; and if you already have sent your pictures, let us know if you’d be interested in seeing them on our pages. Our PAO Team will be hard at work looking through each picture and putting them together. If your pictures do not make it in the Memory Book, we intend to display them during the Decommissioning Ceremony.

The cutoff date of submissions will be 01JUN2026, so don’t delay!

And if you’re looking to pre-order a Memory Book, here is the link: https://buymycruisebook.com/products/uss-germantown-lsd-42-decommissioning-cruisebook-2026

Good Morning, friends and family of GERMANTOWN!

Thank you for all the pictures that you have sent our way! We had so much fun looking through them. As such, the PAO Team was thinking about creating a memory book – something to commemorate GERMANTOWN and keep her memory alive even after her decommissioning.

The book would be approximately $43 per copy with a $6 shipping fee to your personal address. Please let us know in the comments if you would be interested in purchasing a memory book yourself. If you have any more memories to share, please send them to [email protected].

As always, Follow In Our Footsteps! Captain Sends.

Good Morning, friends and family of GERMANTOWN!

As everyone may be aware, USS GERMANTOWN will decommission in September 2026. As we start winding down operations onboard, we would love to commemorate her legacy through photos. If you have any captured memories of yourself and your shipmates onboard, or even GERMANTOWN cruising out at sea, we are looking to display these moments! Please send your GERMANTOWN photos to [email protected] to keep her memory alive!

As always, Follow In Our Footsteps! Captain Sends.
