Once upon a time...
There were two firms—one that focused on all things architecture and planning and another that focused on all things communications. These firms had a strong commitment to improving the community. That commitment led both of their leaders, Laura Warner, Architect/Planner and Catherine Smith, Stakeholder Engagement/Communications Specialist to work to revitalize areas and engage as volunteers on the same high-profile project—a new ballpark and district in downtown San Diego.
Through the trials and tribulations and awards of that volunteer effort, Laura and Cathy forged a bond. They decided to work together on more projects as a consultant team, not volunteers. They succeeded. Quickly they established themselves and their team as visionary leaders in urban planning, architecture, stakeholder engagement, and communications. They built trust and consensus wherever they went, because they focused on the needs of the clients and the community members they served. They innovated and they produced quality design work and engagement strategies that solved complex challenges. And, they created new ways of tackling problems that made life easier for everyone.
This can-do attitude got them through some unexpected challenges. Through those challenges, they stayed their course, believing that engaging designs and communications could improve the world.
