In 1988, the Rancho Bernardo Community Council determined that a local civic organization should be created so that donations to the Council's projects could be deemed tax deductible to the donors. The Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon is the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation's signature event and raises money for the community's many nonprofits. The Luncheon is a must-attend event for members of the RB community and in addition to individual tickets, there are a number of sponsorship opportunities for businesses and community groups to participate, ranging from $250 to $5,000.
