The Marine Corps identified seven Marines and one sailor presumed dead, and another Marine whose body was recovered after an accident Thursday involving an assault amphibious vehicle in Southern California. They include, top row, Pfc. Bryan J. Baltierra, Pfc. Evan A. Bath, Navy Seaman Christopher Gnem and Lance Cpl. Guillermo S. Perez (recovered); and bottom row, Lance Cpl. Chase D. Sweetwood, Cpl. Wesley A. Rodd, Cpl. Cesar A. Villanueva and Pfc. Jack Ryan Ostrovsky, and far right Lance Cpl. Marco A. Barranco.

The 8 Marines and 1 Sailor who lost their lives in a training exercise on July 30, 2020 have been identified.
Their loss is felt by our entire Navy and Marine Corps family and, they will never be forgotten.
