Becoming a dad is a huge mission, but it’s OK to feel overwhelmed. The “baby blues” aren’t just for moms—1 in 10 new
fathers experience postpartum depression.
It can look different in men, showing up as irritability, pulling away, or just feeling “off.”
Recognizing the signs and reaching out are signs of strength. đź’Ş Your family and your unit need you to be
ready, and that includes your mental health.
New Parent Support, Family Advocacy, and Community Counseling provide confidential resources and guidance.

Coping With New Dad Blues Navigating paternal postpartum for Marines involves recognizing the emotional challenges new fathers face after childbirth, offering support, and providing resources to help them manage their mental health and strengthen their family bonds during this transitional period.
