Through June 7, we're proudly celebrating NeighborWorks Weeks alongside NeighborWorks America and nearly 250 network organizations across the country. This annual celebration highlights the power of investment in housing, community development, and economic opportunity, and how that work continues to strengthen communities and expand housing opportunities for all.

As part of this year’s celebration, CHW proudly hosted our 2026 Career Pathways and Youth Financial Literacy Program Graduation Ceremony, where we honored the achievements of our adolescent and young adult residents. The event showcased the impact of our community development efforts and celebrated the next generation of leaders preparing for bright futures.

Through the Career Pathways program, participants receive career exploration and preparation support through mentorship from CHW staff and community partners, along with access to resume writing and interview workshops, online job application tools, and financial education resources. In addition, CHW’s Youth Financial Literacy Program helps youth and young adults ages 13–24 build a strong foundation for financial independence by providing guidance on making positive financial choices to meet self-identified goals, paying for education and career training, starting savings accounts, creating budgets, and establishing credit.

Access to safe, stable housing is the foundation of thriving communities, and NeighborWorks Weeks reminds us of the importance of long-term investment in both people and place.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating growth, opportunity, and the accomplishments of our youth.

Starting May 23 through June 7, we’re proud to celebrate NeighborWorks Weeks alongside America and nearly 250 network organizations across the country. This week highlights the power of investment in housing, community development, and economic opportunity, and how that work is helping expand housing supply and strengthen communities for all.

We’re excited to host CHW’s 2026 Career Pathways and Youth Financial Literacy Program Graduation Ceremony during this year’s celebration, where we’ll showcase our work in community development, while honoring our adolescent and young adult residents. The Career Pathways program supports career exploration and preparation through ongoing mentorship from CHW staff and community partners, along with access to resume writing and interview workshops, online job application tools, and financial education resources.

Access to safe, stable housing is the foundation of thriving communities, and during NeighborWorks Weeks, we’re joining partners nationwide in spotlighting the impact of long-term investment in people and place.

Congratulations to Maria Hernandez on completing the Resident Leadership Academy (RLA)! 👏🏽✨

As both a Community HousingWorks resident and CHW board member, Maria continues to lead by example through her dedication to resident advocacy, leadership, and community engagement. From serving on boards and committees to uplifting resident voices through the Resident United Network, her commitment to making a difference inspires us all.

The Resident Leadership Academy is part of CHW’s Health & Wellness pillar within our resident services programs, helping residents build leadership skills, strengthen community connections, and create positive change in their neighborhoods.

Programs like RLA are made possible through philanthropic support and partnerships with organizations like AHM, whose investment helps expand opportunities for resident leadership and wellness initiatives across our communities.

We’re proud to celebrate this latest achievement and can’t wait to see all the amazing things Maria will continue to accomplish. Congratulations on adding another well-earned certificate to your collection!
