Some stories stay with you long after you've finished reading them.

"Son of Midway Never to be Forgotten" tells the remarkable story of Lt. Kent "Keeper" Kiepe, a talented naval aviator who flew from the USS Midway (CV-41) and whose life was cut tragically short in 1992.

At the heart of the story is a promise between a father and son, a pair of aviator sunglasses and an unexpected moment that brought comfort during a family's darkest days.

Yesterday, we celebrated the 22nd anniversary of the USS Midway Museum opening to the public on June 7, 2004.

What makes Midway special isn't just the ship, it's the people. The veterans who share their stories, the volunteers who bring history to life, the families who return year after year, and the guests from around the world who become part of our story.

Thank you for helping make USS Midway Museum America's Living Symbol of Freedom and one of San Diego's most beloved landmarks. We are honored to preserve this historic ship and its legacy for future generations.💙⚓🤍
