Friends of SDPL University Community Branch

We have exciting news! Renovations are complete on our University Community Branch Library! It will be reopening this Friday, June 5 at 9:30 am.

To mark the occasion, The Friends of the Library will be holding a book sale outside. All books/media will be "Fill A Bag" for $3 (nice canvas bags are being provided while they last). Puzzles will be sold separately for $3 each, beautiful handmade bookmarks for $5 each, and there will be a number of 6 ft folding tables available for $25 each.

At 2:00 pm, there will be a special ceremony in the Community Room welcoming UC residents and neighbors back to our local library. Refreshments will be served.

HOLDS will be available for pick up at University Community Branch Library until Friday, August 8.

HOLDS not picked up by August 8 will be transferred and available at North University Community Library after Friday, August 18.

Isn't this the most gorgeous quilt? Titled Little Free Libraries," it will be be available through an opportunity drawing at the Friends of the UC Library big book sale (4155 Governor) on this Saturday, May 10. Tickets can be purchased now, $1 each or 6 for $5. It was crafted by two local UC residents who have provided highly sought after quilts at several book sales in the past. Don't miss out on a chance to win!!

Help Preserve Library Hours!

Just a reminder about the BIG BOOK SALE this Saturday, November 9, from 10-5 in the community room sponsored by Friends of the UC Library, 4155 Governor Dr. It's a wonderful opportunity to pick up some great reads for yourself or a gift for someone special. And don't miss the opportunity drawing for the book-themed quilt.

The Friends of the University Community Branch Library (4155 Governor Dr) will be holding our big Fall book sale in the community room on Saturday, November 9 from 10 am - 5 pm. Proceeds of these sales, as well as our daily sales go directly to the library to support programs, materials, and equipment. We'll have adult and children's fiction and non-fiction, DVDs, CDs, handcrafted book marks, and puzzles and games, as well as a number of specials, all at rock bottom prices. It'll be the perfect time to shop for holiday gifts. Cash only, so come prepared.

We are also pleased and grateful to community members, Amy Barkan and Susan Griffin, for their donation of another beautiful quilt. Raffle tickets are just $1 each or 6 for $5. The book themed quilt as held by Library Assistant and UC resident, Izzy Uriz, can be viewed at the library now. Tickets are also available now and can be purchased at your leisure.. You do not need to be present to win.

Have too many completed jigsaw puzzles taking up room? Donate them to us anytime the library is open. You'll be helping the library while cleaning up your closet.
