California Western Moot Court Honors Board

Our CWSL Fall 2022 Appellate Teams finished up their competitions this past weekend and the results were amazing! 

We had our veteran team of Brooke and Jonathan who knocked it out of the park at the Thomas Tang competition! They got first place overall and 2nd Best Brief in their regional competition. One competition was not enough for them as they advanced to the national competition. They battled hard and advanced two rounds in the national competition! 

We sent two teams to USD Crim Pro this year: Sarah with Andrea and  Michelle with Connor. All the students did a phenomenal job. This was Sarah, Michelle, and Andrea's first competition ever as they just finished bootcamp this past summer, but none of the judges could tell! Michelle and Connor advanced to the Top 16 round of the competition. Also, Connor received 2nd Best Oral Advocate for the entire competition!

Congratulations to California Western’s ADR Team for taking 2nd and 3rd place at the Tulane Law School inaugural International Fútbol Negotiation Competition!

The team of Alexandria Loveless and Kelli McTague placed 2nd while the team of Sara Berry and Arya Sadighian placed 3rd.

Both team went through three grueling back-to-back preliminary round negotiations and advanced to the quarterfinals finals. After receiving word that both teams advanced to the quarterfinals, the teams only had one night to prepare for a brand new fact pattern to negotiate the next morning. Both teams put on a dominant performance in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals. Although not ideal, the two Cal West teams were set to face one another in the semifinals and only had one hour to prepare for a new fact pattern. When the dust settled, and after what one of the judges called “the most competitive round of the competition yet,” Alexandria and Kelli advanced to the finals.

By the end of the competition, Cal West put on an excellent showing and took the 2nd and 3rd place spots. Congratulations to the ADR Team for another successful competition!

🏆 Congratulations to our ADR team for bring home yet some ADDITIONAL hardware for our trophy case! Susanna and Kathryn brought a fierce fight and we are so proud of their continual accomplishments! Congrats ladies and the whole ADR Team!
