3:11pm Thursday: The following is an update on the fire from CAL FIRE:

Fire crews have observed a decrease in fire activity throughout the day. Firefighters are working to suppress the fire, which is currently burning with a slow rate of spread and measuring 1048 acres. The area with the most active fire remains on the northeast side. Fire crews are concentrating on building and improving containment lines, accomplishing the greatest progress on the south and west sides of the fire perimeter. The north and east sides of the fire continue to be areas of focus for fire line construction.

Weather conditions are expected to be more favorable for the remainder of today compared to yesterday, with lower temperatures and higher relative humidity. Fire crews anticipate temperatures in the low 80s throughout the day, dropping into the 50s overnight. Southwest winds are expected to continue throughout the day and into the night.

The fire continues to burn in challenging steep and rocky terrain. Helicopters and air tankers will also continue to drop water and retardant on the fire throughout the day. Additionally, fire crews are being flown in by helicopter and dropped off in difficult to access areas, constructing containment lines on the north and northeast sides. The crews inserted into these remote areas are expected to remain there for three days.

Evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect. However, there are currently no structures threatened. An evacuation order was partially lifted in zone SDC-1551, allowing residents to return to their homes. For the most up to date information on evacuations and road closures, continue to monitor protect.genasys.com.

11:53am Thursday: The fire has now been mapped at 1,048.2 acres by CAL FIRE Intel aircraft. Their perimeter is visible on the Watch Duty map under the Active Fire Perimeters map layer.

6:30am Thursday: Update from CAL FIRE
The fire continues to burn at a slow to moderate rate of spread and has grown to approximately 976 acres. Crews were able to take advantage of favorable weather conditions overnight. The fire is still burning in a remote area with steep, rocky terrain. Fire crews will continue focusing on building and improving containment lines. Because the area is so remote and hard to reach by ground, crews are being shuttled in by helicopters. Evacuation orders and warnings are still in effect, but there are currently no structures threatened. All evacuated areas, where homes were located, have been repopulated and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

9:06pm Wednesday: Evacuations have been lifted for Zones SDC-1551-A and SDC-1551-B, per Genasys. Reference the Watch Duty map or Genasys Protect for the parameters of these newly split zones.

9:43pm: The fire is 976.6 acres per the perimeter uploaded to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC), which is visible on the Watch Duty map under the Active Fire Perimeters map layer.

Wednesday 5:08pm: The fire is now 25% contained, per CAL FIRE.

Wednesday, 2:21pm: The fire has been mapped at 868.1 acres by CAL FIRE Intel aircraft. Their perimeter is visible on the Watch Duty map under the Active Fire Perimeters map layer.

Wednesday, 1:37pm: 3 large air tankers (LATs) have been requested by air attack.

12:52pm: 3 additional air tankers have been requested by air attack.

12:35pm: The fire is 400 to 450 acres, per air attack. There is minimal fire activity on the head and left shoulder of the fire. The fire is more active on the right shoulder and flank. 4 type 1 copters, 1 helicopter coordinator (HLCO), and 1 air tanker were previously requested.
