California Tower in Balboa Park will reopen to the public It has been closed to the public since 1935, but not for long.

After an extensive five-month renovation, the 100-year-old bridge, also known as the Laurel Street Bridge, can now traveled by vehicle between Sixth Avenue and Laurel Street to the center of the park. (A secret: walking east across the bridge is also one of the best short walks in all of San Diego!)
