We said goodbye to one of our interns, Camry Wilkins, as he wrapped up his time with our office.

Camry is a student at the University of San Diego studying Environmental Science with a strong passion for environmental policy and public service.

Before joining our team, he served in the Navy for nine years and relocated to San Diego just last year to continue his education and pursue a new chapter of service to his community.

We are grateful for all of his hard work and dedication, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors!

🌺 This , I’m honored to recognize Dr. Gene Ma, President and CEO of Tri-City Medical Center, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to healthcare in our region.

🩺 Dr. Ma has spent decades serving San Diego communities through emergency medicine, hospital leadership, and healthcare innovation. After attending medical school at UCSF and completing his training at Stanford and UC San Diego, he joined Tri-City Emergency Medical Group in 2000 and went on to serve in several leadership roles, including Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Chief of Staff at Tri-City Hospital.

His commitment to patient care and medical excellence has earned him recognition as San Diego’s “Top Doctor in Emergency Medicine” ten times. Dr. Ma also founded WorkPartners OHS, helping grow it into one of the region’s leading occupational medicine practices.

👏 While Dr. Ma has held many impressive leadership roles throughout his career, he often shares that none of it would hold the same meaning without the support of his high school sweetheart and wife, their five daughters who continue to inspire him every day, and even their beloved King Charles Cavalier, who is also proudly part of the girl-powered household. 🐶

Thank you, Dr. Ma, for your years of service, leadership, and commitment to improving healthcare for our communities! 💙

Today is Memorial Day, when we remember the lives lost in conflicts both overseas and at home. Many of us know the holiday as an opportunity to spend a much-needed three day weekend with our families, but we cannot forget the families who have lost loved ones fighting to protect all of us.

Our military community is a core part of North County. It is our responsibility to ensure their sacrifice is never in vain.

Thank you to our Veterans and to our military families.

La Jolla Coastal Conservancy is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and enhancing La Jolla’s 1.5-mile coast, including Scripps Park, Coast Walk Trail, and Children’s Pool areas. The nonprofit has a public-private partnership with the City of San Diego to repair and maintain the Coastal Walk Trail.

I recently went on a site tour of the Coastal Walk Trail with the La Jolla Coastal Conservancy Founder and President, Brenda Fake, and Susie Murphy, a member and advocate, to learn more about their current and future projects.
