A full-scale exercise simulates a real event as closely as possible—think of it as practice in action.

SDSU students put their skills to the test during a Rose Canyon Fault earthquake simulation, working through realistic scenarios, coordinating response efforts, and building the confidence needed to act when it matters most.

As we wrap up the month, we’re sending a HUGE shoutout to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) volunteers!

CERT empowers our communities through hands‑on emergency preparedness training and steps in to support residents during major incidents.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office ACS volunteers—featured in photos from our recent full‑scale exercise—provide critical communications that keep our County safe, connected, and ready during emergencies.

We’re celebrating all of you this National Volunteer Month!
