Mind Treasures' Programs in Mexico
We are proud to announce establishment of Mind Treasures’ Financial Intelligence programs in Rosarito, Mexico. Ms. Irma Gutierrez is a dual citizen of USA and Mexico and has been part of Mind Treasures’ team facilitating workshops for the last 7 years in our home town of San Diego, California. This summer she was able to introduce the program to elementary/primary schools in Rosarito. This is the first time our ABCs of Wealth program in being implements in Mexico. The program has received very positive feedback from students, parents, teachers, and principals.

You might be able to lower your monthly internet service fee

This message only applies to anyone who has a home or business internet service from Spectrum, Cox, or AT&T.

You might have heard that T-Mobile and Verizon are introducing 5G home internet service in many areas. Recently we tried the T-Mobile service and it wasn’t really up to par with our existing Spectrum. T-Mobile service was OK for basic browsing the internet but not really reliable for video streaming however their $50/mo price is very attractive. Verizon’s service is still in the works.

We decided to call Spectrum to see if they were willing to reduce their price. Not only they reduced the price we even got a higher internet speed for the same price as T-Mobile. I’ve been able to do this for three different accounts that we manage. Spectrum reduced the monthly internet fee from $74.99 to $49.99 and increased the speed from 200Mbps to 500Mbps for the next 12 months. We put a reminder on my calendar to call them again next year.

If your current internet provider is Spectrum, you can call and they should give you the same price for one year. If AT&T or Cox are your current provides, I encourage you to call and negotiate with them as well.

Here is how we normally negotiate with Spectrum:

Call the customer service number on your bill, and during the initial selection process say “Disconnect Service”. You are not actually calling to disconnect, but by selecting this option, you immediately get transferred to their Retention Department which has all the special deals. If you select any other option (i.e. billing or upgrade/change) you’ll end up in a department that does not have access to this and you’ll get the run around. The first time I called, the agent even denied having a Retention Department and kept asking me if I wanted to disconnect my service. So eventually I said yes and she transferred me.

Once you get to the Retention Department, just tell them that you are considering switching to T-Mobile’s Home Internet but would stay with Spectrum if they are willing to match the price. That’s all you have to do. Ask them for the higher speed service for the same price of $50/mo.

Today when we called Spectrum, they even offered one year of free cellular service for one line if we switched our mobile phone from T-Mobile to Spectrum. This can be a great deal for many people.

Update from Buea, Cameroon
Initial stage of our first hybrid program concluded this week. The Allied Africa team, organized 15 young adults who attended four 3-hr weekly sessions in-person. The in-person group virtually joined another 15 participants from Canada, USA, Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, India, South Africa, and Namibia. The group included a 12-yr-old who attended individually and a family of 3 with a 9-yr-old.

Our deepest appreciation to everyone who helped make this a success. We are very excited about this accomplishment. The Allied Africa team is already planning to organize the next group of cohorts for a two full day training in June. They also feel comfortable enough to conduct the program on their own with some support from us. They are also working on potentially establishing the program in their university and secondary schools in the fall.
