Retirement can be a highly stressful time for a military family. As the day nears, information comes flying in from all directions. The active duty member is the one to carry much of the burden but there are so many ways spouses and significant others can support. This class will walk you through many of those ways!

I’m going to hit up the February class if anyone would like to join me! My hubs is on the cusp and knowing all the info, so I can better support him, is essential. 🤍

Would you like to be an Ombudsman for the USS Carl Vinson? We are looking for more volunteers! With the end of the year upon us and a deployment, some time in 2023, it is time to build up our Ombudsman team!

An Ombudsman is an official representative of the Commanding Officer (CO) and plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining communication between the command and family members. Ombudsman for the USS Carl Vinson are spouses of sailors on the USS Carl Vinson. We are available 24/7 for emergencies with normal business hours for non-emergencies.

Requirements include:
1. Being married to a sailor on the Carl Vinson
2. Experienced a minimum of one deployment as a military spouse
3. Prepared to attend meetings (virtual & in person)
4. Your spouse must have at least one year left at the command
5. A spouse that will be located in San Diego

This will be our last acceptance of applicants before we start interviews in January. Please know when we say "interviews" they are very informal and more of a meet and greet. It's just us, getting to know you! So please do not let the word "interview" deter you from applying!
