The Cleveland National Forest has issued Forest Order No. 02-26-09, an update from Forest Order 02-25-04, which continues the closure of the Airport Fire Closure Area on the Trabuco Ranger District. This order restricts access to:

• Joplin Trail (6W02), Holy Jim Trail (6W03), Trabuco Canyon Trail (6W04), San Juan Trail (6W05), Los Pinos Trail (6W06), Chiquito Trail (6W07), Viejo Tie Trail (6W09), Falcon Trail (6W10), and Horsethief West Trail (6W11)
• Long Canyon Road (6S05), Hot Springs Canyon Road (6S10), Trabuco Canyon Road (6S13), and Holy Jim Road (6S14)

The following trails have been opened from the previous closure:
• San Juan Loop (5W01), Cold Water Canyon Trail (6W01), Horse Thief East trail (5W01).

The Cleveland National Forest is proposing updates to recreation fees across several campgrounds and permit sites to continue improving visitor services and maintain high demand facilities. These changes will help fund critical maintenance projects, provide additional staffing, and enhance recreation experiences for the millions of visitors who enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and more on the forest.

has made changes to the EVACUATION ORDER (shaded areas in red shown in the map below) and EVACUATION WARNING (shaded areas in yellow shown in the map below) for the in Campo due to improved conditions.

A reminder: an EVACUATION ORDER means everyone in the impacted areas must leave immediately. An EVACUATION WARNING means be prepared to evacuate should conditions change.

[UPDATE 5/29/26 6:00 p.m.] The fire is 100% contained.

[MORNING UPDATE 5/25/26] The fire remains 95% contained at 1,473 acres. Firefighters continue to mop-up any hotspots and reinforce containment lines.

[MORNING UPDATE 5/24/26 8:30AM] The fire is still 1,473 acres and now 95% contained. Minimal fire behavior was observed during the reporting period. Crews continue to mop up, patrol, reinforce containment lines, backhaul hose, and conduct fire suppression repair. Damage assessment and repair efforts remain ongoing as crews work to secure the incident area and support safe rehabilitation. City of Jurupa Valley

[UPDATE 5/23/26 6:15 PM]: The fire's updated acreage is now at 1,473 due to updated mapping and is now 89% contained.

Residents and those traveling through the area are encouraged to continue using caution. Crews will remain in the area over the next several days to ensure roadways and homes remain safe.

[UPDATE 5/23/26 8:00 AM]: The fire remains at 1,497 acres and is now 83% contained.

Minimal fire behavior was observed throughout the evening. Crews continue to mop up, build and reinforce containmentlines.

[UPDATE 5/22/26 3:00 PM]: ALL Evacuation Orders and Warnings have been lifted for the Bain Fire.

Residents and those traveling through the area are encouraged to continue using caution. Crews will remain in the area over the next several days to ensure roadways and homes remain safe.

Residents may continue to see or smell drift smoke in the area due to lingering activity. Personnel will also continue canvassing neighborhoods to support cleanup and ongoing safety efforts.

[MORNING UPDATE 5/22/26 8:00 AM]: The fire remains at 1,497 acres and is now 67% contained.

Fire activity remained minimal overnight and interior pockets of unburned fuel continue to smolder. Crews will remain engaged in monitoring these areas and mitigating any lingering hotspots as conditions permit.

[EVENING UPDATE 5/21/26 7:30PM] The fire is holding at 1,497 acres and is now 60% contained.

Minimal fire behavior was observed overnight and throughout today, with no significant fire growth or movement.

Crews continue to monitor isolated pockets of unburned fuel within the interior of the fire area, where occasional heat and light smoke may still be visible. Firefighters will continue mop-up and patrol operations, strengthen containment lines, address remaining hotspots, and conduct fire suppression repair.

Damage inspection teams (DINS) are on scene assessing impacted areas.

Road Closure/Traffic Update: Southbound Van Buren Boulevard at Clay Street is reduced to one lane. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area as crews and equipment continue working.

[UPDATE 5/21/26 3:00PM] The fire is at 1,497 acres and 39% contained.

Evacuation orders have been downgraded to evacuation warnings for the following zones:

VEGETATION FIRE - rpt @ 11:22 AM at Limonite Ave. and Bain St. in the community of Mira Loma near the Santa Ana River Bottom. Multiple resources are on scene of a 10-acre fire burning in heavy fuels with a moderate rate of spread. Additional air and ground resources are requested. Updates to follow.

Be advised, San Diego County Sheriff’s Office has put into effect evacuation orders for areas around the Tusil Fire as shown in the map below. Please comply with all Sheriff and Firefighter instructions.

If you live in Campo, be aware of increased law enforcement and firefighting activity. A brush fire is burning near the 37000 block of Tusil Road.
