Brass Band from Šardice and Cimbalom Band from Kyjov, who traveled directly from the Czech Republic to perform for us.
Their program with Czech and Slovak songs was truly outstanding, and the addition of 2 pairs of talented dancers made the performance even more special.
In particular, hearing all 3 national anthems performed by the Brass Band from Šardice so beautifully was a moving experience...
We are so grateful to the performers for their talent and to our members for making this such a vibrant community event with wonderful atmosphere in the HCSR cottage, and HCSR is excited to share professional photos of the event taken by Gabi Dibos, and thank you to sound technician Matt Alcobia.

Can you believe that we have been dancing together already for 15 years? It has been a long but happy journey for our dancers.
We became not only dancers, but sisters, brothers and friends. We became a family. Come and celebrate with us!

Program:
We prepared for you a Gala Program with dances and songs by Karička and Podkovička, and also a very special guest Karol Csino who will sing songs of legendary Karol Duchoň and many more.
There will be a raffle and after the main program, dancing for all guests!

Starting from May 1st, 2026, tickets will be $30.

Natasha Braden (HCSR Queen, and HPR Queens Treasurer) and Nicole Nemecek (former HCSR Queen and current HPR Queens Advisor) will greet you with a smile and serve coffee, lemonade, cake, and Czech and Slovak pastries while representing "The House of the Czech and Slovak Republics".

The House of Pacific Relations (HPR) International Cottages are Celebrating 90th Year of their presence in Balboa Park at HPR Cottages, Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.

(HCSR) House of Czech and Slovak Republics (formally named Czechoslovakia) has been a part of HPR organization since its establishment in 1935 and will be participating in this celebration on both days with other International Houses on:
Saturday, September 6, 2025 (11 am - 5 pm)
Sunday, September 7, 2025 (11 am - 5 pm)

During this two-day event in which HPR commemorates this historic milestone, visitors will be able to enjoy the food, music and entertainment provided by HPR organization. You can also visit International Houses.

Since HCSR cottage is still not open (due to City of San Diego repairs), HCSR will have a table with Czech and Slovak displays and baked goods at the Hall of Nations on both days.
