The votes have all been counted, confirming again: the JFK Promenade is here to stay!

San Franciscans voted by a decisive 63% to preserve the Promenade.

And over 65% rejected Prop I, protecting our open space and Ocean Beach.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, especially our volunteers and partner organizations!

We had so much fun working with all of you on this campaign, and would love to stay in touch.

For the past 2.5 years, San Franciscans have flocked to JFK Promenade in Golden Gate Park in record numbers. The Promenade has been a source of joy, community, and respite for hundreds of thousands of residents. We are thrilled that the majority of voters recognize and value this lovely space that everyone can enjoy.

THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers who powered this campaign by phone banking, door knocking, rallying, and talking to voters everywhere about why San Francisco needed to support Prop J and reject Prop I. We could not have done this without you all and we are proud to be part of the growing movement for safe open space and active transportation routes.

The JFK Promenade is just getting started as one of San Francisco's most treasured and joyful public spaces, and we’re sure it'll only get better from here.

Thank you for all of your support and enthusiasm.

Onward!

Team Yes on J ❤️

SF’s Future is at Stake: Vote Yes on Prop D, J, & L — No on E & I 10/31/2022

Thank you Senator Scott Wiener for your unwavering support for JFK Promenade!

"Prop J codifies the JFK Promenade in Golden Gate Park as permanent, car-free open space for all to safely enjoy on foot, bikes, and scooters, while also providing expanded parking access for seniors and residents with disabilities. Our city’s flagship park should be free, accessible, and abundantly safe for everyone, and Prop J helps make that a reality.

Unfortunately, Prop J also has a competing measure — Prop I — that would cost taxpayers $80 million and give cars free reign on JFK Promenade and the Great Highway, making both unsafe. Voters who want to keep our parks safe and accessible should vote Yes on J, and No on I."

Eyes on the Prize: The Upcoming Election and Thoughts About How Far We’ve Come 10/27/2022

"In less than two weeks, San Francisco votes will be counted on arguably the most important election advocates have ever seen. If Prop. “J” succeeds, the JFK Promenade will be made permanent. If “I” wins, JFK will again become a major highway cut-through for speeding motorists and the Great Walkway, the city’s beach, will be forever dominated by cars (at least until it falls into the ocean)."

Thank you Roger Rudick!
