🐾 Big News!

The Commission Streamlining Task Force reversed course and voted unanimously (5–0) to recommend keeping the San Francisco Animal Control & Welfare Commission in place!

The task force acknowledged the strong public input calling to preserve the commission. The chair noted, “We received more feedback on this issue than anything else we’ve done.” (They are reviewing 130 San Francisco commissions.)

💪 Huge thanks to everyone who spoke up, wrote letters, and made your voices heard. Your advocacy made the difference! Thank you!

As part of the passage of Proposition E, a new public body called the Commission Streamlining Task Force was created to evaluate SF city commissions. Last week, this Task Force made a preliminary recommendation that the Commission of Animal Control and Welfare be eliminated. 🙀

We need your help to make sure that San Francisco doesn't lose its only public forum dedicated to animal welfare! How you can help:

1) Send messages / letters of support by November 4 to [email protected]
2) Attend the Task Force meeting at City Hall (Room 263) on Wednesday, November 5 at 1pm to make a public comment
