SOLIDARITY WITH DELIVERY WORKERS IN TAIWAN!
The International Gig Workers Congress stands in solidarity with our comrades in Taiwan, who took to the streets this monday to oppose Grab’s acquisition of Foodpanda Taiwan.
Hundreds of people joined the protest, warning that the merger threatens delivery workers’ rights and working conditions. They demanded that Taiwan’s Fair Trade Commission reject the acquisition and delivered a petition to the authorities.
Workers’ rights are not bargaining chips for corporate deals! We reject mergers that strengthen corporate power at the expense of workers. Labor rights must be respected, and workers must have a real voice in decisions that affect their conditions.
We stand in solidarity with our comrades in Taiwan in their fight for labor rights, and democratic worker participation.
Gig workers of the world, unite!
