Shared Spaces Equity Grants re-opened to applicants this week. pandemic permit holders who have applied for a post-pandemic permit can get a grant for materials or services to bring their Shared Space into compliance. Apply by Sep 27 at http://sf.gov/shared-spaces-equity.

Shared Spaces Pandemic Program Retrospective: Turning Vacant Lots into Vibrant Spaces

110 Shared Spaces popped up on private property sites like vacant areas, rear yards, and parking lots from July 2020 to March 2023. Sponsors included gyms, community orgs, restaurants, bars, and even barber shops.

64 projects, 41 U.S. cities, and 22 European cities later…

..our Initiative is expanding into Canada and Mexico! As many as 20 cities in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. will have the opportunity to receive grants for projects that use art and design to improve street safety, revitalize public spaces, and engage community residents.
