Cecelia Chung has tirelessly advocated for transgender rights for more than 20 years in San Francisco & nationwide. As an Asian transgender woman living with HIV, she’s spent her life fighting to end discrimination, stigma and violence across marginalized communities, first as the former chair of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and then on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS.

OCOF honors Sylvia Rivera- a veteran of the 1969 Stonewall uprising. Sylvia was a tireless advocate for all those who have been marginalized as the “gay rights” movement has mainstreamed. Sylvia fought hard against the exclusion of transgender people from the Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act in New York, and was a loud and persistent voice for the rights of people of color and low-income qu**rs and trans people.
