Our 2026 May Cruise was this past Saturday, the fog lifted and it was beautiful on the bay. Thank you to those who sailed with us, your patronage makes it all possible.
Now that we're tied up to Pier 35, you are invited to view the fireworks on the Fourth of July from aboard the deck of this historic ship. It is very close to the barge shooting off the fireworks, you can't find a better spot to view the fireworks AND support our ship..
A giant THANK YOU to all who sailed from our volunteer crew!

We are broken hearted to post that our friend and wonderful ship keeper Steve Wright crossed the bar yesterday. Maybe it was fitting that he left us when we were out sailing on our May Memorial Cruise, although he wasn't able to come along physically. He was always with us and lives in our hearts, Steve we will always remember you.
Another angel has joined the heavenly ranks of the Jeremiah O'Brien.

The SS Jeremiah O'Brien was honored with a flyover from the Memorial Squad yesterday on Memorial Day. This was our view at a little after noon, eight planes flying in formation, we thank the pilots and crews that assisted in this and include the O'Brien on these special flyovers. Memorial Day May 25, 2026
All of the staff and volunteers at the SS Jeremiah O'Brien would like to both honor and mourn men and women of the military who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Please take a moment and give some thought to those that gave everything, many of whom never returned, their sacrifices made this country what it is. Memorial Day was first celebrated in the 1860's following the Civil War, and it always falls on the last Monday of May. It became an official national holiday in 1971.
The O'Brien will follow protocol by flying our American Flags at half mast until noon and then they will be raised at full mast. The ship will be open on Monday from 10:00 to 5:00 with the Navy Gate on the Embarcadero closing at 4:00.
