Working past 65: A choice or a necessity?

For some older adults, working longer means staying connected, finding purpose, and sharing their experience. For others, it means being able to afford the basics.

New research from the Public Policy Institute of California (.notes) projects that 1.8 million Californians age 65 and older will be working by 2040, up from 1.3 million in 2024.

But behind those numbers is a bigger question: What happens when retirement becomes something not everyone can afford?

As California grows older, ensuring financial security and creating age-inclusive workplaces will be essential to making sure older adults have the freedom to choose what comes next.

Who says prom is just for teens? 💃🕺 San Francisco’s Senior Prom proves that aging is worth celebrating—on the dance floor!

After a six-year break, the Senior Prom returned to Golden Gate Park, bringing hundreds of older adults together for an afternoon of connection, music, dancing, and pure joy.

Aging is universal, but so is the need for joy and connection. 🧡
