This Saturday, a group of housing advocates, neighbors, and launched our kick-off campaign to get the Affordable Housing Guarantee Act on the November ballot in San Francisco to make sure billionaires and luxury real estate pay their fair share to house working San Franciscans! The measure taxes real estate sales over $10 million and allocates the funds to rent relief, eviction protection and social housing, which means it’s permanently affordable, publicly owned housing!
While we passed a measure to tax luxury real estate in 2020 (Prop I), in recent years City Hall and the Mayor have designated the funds elsewhere. We need to pass this measure to guarantee the money raised goes to affordable housing! If we don’t pass it, the mayor is taking the funds away.
Join us to make San Francisco a place where working people can actually afford to live here!

Capitalism Thrives on Human Exploitation: From Chattel Slavery to Modern Human Trafficking
The crimes of Epstein, Trump, and their ilk are only the most recent representatives of a class that has profited from the exploitation and abuse of human bodies since the rise of chattel slavery and the capitalist system that it sustained. While the law and moral attitudes have changed over centuries, there has never been a real confrontation, nor any meaningful end to systemic human trafficking. Open-air slave markets still exist in parts of the world. Immigration status is weaponized to force people into indentured servitude. And powerful men and women continue to profit from s*x trafficking years after Epstein’s death.

DSA SF Stands in Solidarity with Survivors of Trafficking and Sexual Abuse, Demands Justice Against Sexual Exploitation
As more information from the Epstein files come to light, we learn with outrage, sadness and disgust about only some of the atrocities inflicted on women and children by Jeffrey Epstein and his associates, who notably include sitting U.S. president Donald Trump, himself a convicted criminal abuser of women.

On Friday the 13th (spooky~), Tenderloin Healing Circle hosted a café cleaning event at Kelly Cullen Community!! This mutual aid action allowed us to show our gratitude to KCC for allowing us to use the auditorium for chapter meetings, TLHC, and Phys Ed; as well as help provide a clean and cozy space for residents to hang out.
A mighty crew of 9 spent 2 hours sorting, bagging and boxing all the supplies so the building manager can start setting up supply stations and get a sense for what inventory they have available. The Tenderloin Healing Circle will also be hosting a follow-up event to help the building manager set up a linen closet with the supplies we helped organize, so keep an eye out for that! Thank you again to everyone who showed up and helped!

SCHOOLS CAN’T WAIT! FUND EDUCATORS 🍎
Thousands of educators, parents, and students joined picket lines and rallied at City Hall to demand better schools!
Like member and parent, Noah, said:
educators deserve everything they’re asking for and more.
✅ FAIR PAY
✅ FAMILY HEATH CARE
✅ SANCTUARY SCHOOLS
✅ SPECIAL EDUCATORS (SPED)
✅ STABLE SCHOOLS
We stand in solidarity with the workers withholding their labor until ALL demands are met. Until then, DSA SF will fundraise, picket, organize, and advocate for teachers to get what they need to make schools students deserve!
