What responsibility do we have to one another?
It’s a question students in the Racial Justice Cohort spent the year exploring. This spring, they put their answer into action by organizing a care package and food distribution event at the Bayview YMCA for unhoused and low-income community members.
Through food, hygiene supplies, and handwritten notes, youth showed what community care can look like when people choose to show up for one another.

When Cathy Quach first came to C*C as a high school student, she was looking for a place to talk openly about her mental health and feel understood.
Today, she supports young people as a clinician, working with youth navigating many of those same questions across family, culture, and identity.
Her path reflects what consistent support and trusted relationships can make possible over time.

Young people deserve to feel like they belong.
Yesterday, C*C Dianne Feinstein Elementary School afterschool team joined city and school district leaders, families, and community partners to launch the Inclusion Jumpstart Series, a new initiative focused on making youth programs across San Francisco more inclusive and accessible for children and youth with disabilities.
Creating spaces where all young people can thrive takes collective commitment, and we’re proud to be part of a community working together to strengthen support for children and families across the city.

Afterschool programs are part of how young people experience consistency beyond the school day.
Across C*C sites, that work takes shape through relationships built over time and through staff who continue to show up each day. Many bring shared experiences with the communities they serve, shaping how connection and trust develop.
This week marks Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week, a moment to recognize the role this work plays in the lives of young people and families. Moments of appreciation, often shared quietly, are part of what sustains that work over time.
