Chester Santos , "The International Man of Memory", is one of the world's foremost experts on memory training. He's helped thousands of people around the world to realize the benefits of an improved memory and sharper mind, and has appeared in the
New York Times, Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, USA Today, PBS, CNN, and various other television, radio, and print media all over the world. Chester is also the 2008 USA National Memory Champion. He has spoken for executive organizations such as YPO, CEO Clubs International, and AceTech as well as for many Fortune 500 companies, and prestigious universities including: the Royal University for Women in Bahrain, the Haas Graduate School of Business in
Berkeley, Stanford University, and Harvard University. Chester is working on a new book about memory improvement and brain fitness due out in 2015. His iPhone application, "Steel Trap", was featured by Apple and became an instant worldwide bestseller.

Jeff Adachi is the elected Public Defender of San Francisco, pension reform advocate, and a former candidate for Mayor of San Francisco. Mr. Adachi is the only elected Public Defender in the state of California and runs an office of nearly 100 attorneys and 60 staff members, which has a $24 million budget. According to estimates, the office represents over 23,000 people each year who are charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses. The office is known for several innovative criminal justice programs, including Drug Court, Clean Slate expungement services, and a full-service juvenile division.

Information about our Guest Speaker:

Al Saracevic has worked for The San Francisco Chronicle since 2000, when he came over to the paper during the merger with the San Francisco Examiner. He started at the Hearst-owned Examiner in 1994. During his time at both papers, Al has held numerous jobs ranging from copy editor to wire editor to reporter to columnist to deputy section editor. He also served as Business Editor of The Chronicle before becoming sports editor in 2009.

Among the major stories Al has covered: the dot-com boom and bust of the 1990s; the California energy crisis of the early 2000s; the Web 2.0 revolution; the rebuilding of Iraq after the initial occupation of that country; the accounting, banking and real estate crises of the middle-2000s; two U.S. Open golf tournaments; the President's Cup; the Fiesta Bowl; the Rose Bowl; two World Series; numerous NFL playoff games; and one Super Bowl.

Currently, Al remains the sports editor of The Chronicle. He also pens a weekly column called From the Sports Desk. And in his spare time, he is the founding contributor to the paper's online snow sports blog, Slope Dope.

We had our monthly luncheon at the Fairmont hotel on Tuesday 7/8. This month our guest speaker presented about Burning Man. Come join us for future luncheons and events.
