Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA)

En el mes de mayo, miembras de las oficinas de Oakland y San Francisco se graduaron del taller Toma el Timón de Tu Vida.

Toma el Timón de Tu Vida es un taller de coaching de 9 sesiones, diseñado para mujeres que desean crear un cambio positivo y duradero en sus vidas.

Es un viaje de autodescubrimiento para fortalecer su poder interior, conectar con la líder que hay en ellas y dirigir su futuro hacia el rumbo que desean. Impartido por Sonia Serrano, coach de bienestar certificada por la International Coaching Federation.

In the month of May, members from the Oakland and San Francisco offices graduated from the Take the Helm of Your Life workshop.

Take the Helm of Your Life is a 9-session coaching program designed for women who want to create positive and lasting change in their lives.

It is a journey of self-discovery to strengthen their inner power, connect with the leader within them, and steer their future toward the direction they envision.
Facilitated by Sonia Serrano, Wellness Coach certified by the International Coaching Federation.

📍 Find your nearest polling place or official ballot drop box at vote.ca.gov

⏰ Polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM.

Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked no later than June 2. If you mail it on Election Day, make sure to get a hand postmark from a clerk inside a United States Post Office.

En el mes de mayo, miembras de MUA concluyeron un entrenamiento para convertirse en Orientadoras

Durante este proceso fortalecieron sus habilidades de liderazgo, aprendieron herramientas para orientar a nuevas miembras y reafirmaron su compromiso de servir con amor, empatía y dedicación.

Las orientadoras reciben a las nuevas miembras, facilitan las mini orientaciones, brindan acompañamiento profundo cada tres meses y apoyan en seguimientos, mesas informativas y talleres dentro y fuera de MUA.

Hoy celebramos este gran logro y reconocemos el esfuerzo, crecimiento y compromiso de cada una de ellas. 💜

In the month of May, MUA members completed training to become Orientation Leaders.

During this process, they strengthened their leadership skills, learned tools to guide new members, and reaffirmed their commitment to serving with love, empathy, and dedication.

Orientation Leaders welcome new members, facilitate mini orientations, provide in depth guidance every three months, and support follow-ups, information desks, and workshops within and outside of MUA.

Today we celebrate this great achievement and recognize the effort, growth, and commitment of each one of them. 💜

The Cheese Board Collective is holding a fundraiser for Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA) on Sunday 5/31.

We’re having a lunch service from 11:30–2:30 or until we sell out.

Menu:
Pizza Margherita: roma tomato, fresh mozzarella, garlic olive oil & basil
Salad: organic carrots, goat cheese, toasted almonds, organic greens & herb vinaigrette
As well as soft serve, cookies, green sauce, and drinks!

We’ll also have live music from Cascada de Flores: the musical collaboration of Arwen Lawrence and Jorge Liceaga, reimagining Mexican and Latin American traditional music through storytelling, song, and cultural education.

100% of sales, tips, and additional donations from the day will go directly to MUA in support of immigrant women and families in our community.

El día miércoles 27 de mayo, 15 miembras de MUA en la oficina de Union City se graduaron de una serie de talleres de Arte y Crochet impartidos por el proyecto Cultura y Bienestar.

Esta serie de talleres ofreció un espacio seguro para expresarse, conectar y cuidar el bienestar emocional. A través de la creatividad y el trabajo manual, se promovió la relajación, el fortalecimiento de la autoestima y el cuidado de la salud mental.

On Wednesday, May 27, 15 MUA members at the Union City office graduated from a series of Art and Crochet workshops offered through the Cultura y Bienestar project.

This series of workshops provided a safe space for participants to express themselves, connect with others, and care for their emotional well-being. Through creativity and hands-on activities, the program promoted relaxation, strengthened self esteem, and supported mental health.

El pasado sábado 23 de mayo, MUA recibio a estudiantes de la Universidad de California, Santa Cruz en un intercambio comunitario ✨

18 estudiantes y 2 integrantes de la universidad visitaron MUA, donde 8 miembros compartieron sus historias de liderazgo y dos integrantes del equipo hablaron sobre la historia y el impacto de MUA. Cerramos con un pequeño refrigerio y un detalle de agradecimiento por parte de los estudiantes. 💜

This past Saturday, May 23rd, MUA welcomed students from the University of California, Santa Cruz for a community exchange ✨

18 students and 2 university staff members visited MUA, where 8 members shared their leadership journeys and two team members spoke about MUA’s history and impact. We ended with a small refreshment and a thoughtful thank-you gift from the students. 💜
