Repost | Yesterday was a productive day in the San Francisco Bay Area for President Biden. Here’s a quick recap.

President Biden started the day by hosting a Summit with President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China. In this meeting, President Biden stressed the importance of diplomacy for managing the relationship. He made clear that the United States will always stand up for its interests and values and those of its allies and partners.

In the afternoon, President Biden held a press conference where he announced new cooperation between the U.S. and China to combat the fentanyl crisis as well as the renewal of military to military communications and highlighted how the U.S. has led a meaningful agenda that affirms the vital role we play in the Asia Pacific and recognizes the importance of the Asia Pacific to our future here at home.

In the evening, President Biden and the First Lady hosted a welcome reception for leaders from the 20 visiting APEC economics for the 30th Leaders’ Summit. Vice President Harris and the Second Gentleman also attended.
