Lafayette Elementary School PTA

Will you be joining Lafayette Elementary for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year? If so, we would like to invite you to two summer playdates scheduled for incoming families. PTA members and current parents will be there with snacks, coffee, and answers to (hopefully!) many of your questions. Dates, times, and location are as follows:

Also, our next big fundraising event is the wildly popular Donut Dash, where hundreds of students, teachers and caregivers participate in a 1 or 3-mile foot race in Golden Gate Park—all racers get a donut once they cross the finish line! This event is open to the entire community.

Lastly, we invite you to jump right in and become a member of the PTA and get on the inside track for info, events and decision making within our school. The PTA is a 100% parent volunteer run organization. Together with our teachers and administration we work to positively impact the lives of our children and families. Whether that means raising money to fund additional programs not covered by the district or hosting community events to bring our families closer together, the ultimate goal is to provide our children with the best elementary school experience possible. This year we raised just over $120,000 which helped to bring back many in person community events including our Halloween celebration, Movie Night, School Musical, and Field Day to name a few. We funded field trips, assemblies, and online learning while also supplementing the salary for our STEAM teacher and

The Lafayette Elementary PTA invites you to join us for a production of Matilda the Musical! Evening performances take place on Wed, March 22nd - Friday, March 24th. Doors open at 5:30PM and show time is at 6:00PM.

Be sure to bring cash (small bills preferred) as our 5th grade class will be selling concessions to raise money for their promotion activities. In addition, while all performances are free of charge, the PTA will be accepting donations at the door. Your generous donations will help us to continue to fund events such as the school musical that help enrich the elementary school experience for our students and strengthen our school community.

The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Parking Fundraiser makes its return to the Lafayette Elementary school yard! If you know anyone who plans to drive in for the event on Saturday, October 1st or Sunday, October 2nd please send them our way. 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit our students and school community.

Another event returns to Lafayette! Our school musical took place at the end of last week and it was amazing! While we weren't able to get a full scale play in place we were able to do a music review style showcase. The following songs from previously produced plays were sung by our cast of students:

The Donut Dash returns! 🍩 This event took place last month so I'm a bit late in posting. The damp day didn't disappoint as students, parents, family members, teachers and staff joined in the fun. Our very own Splash even made an appearance and encouraged our participants by giving out high-"fins". Thank you to everyone for coming out and a very special thanks to our Donut Dash committee for making it happen. Go Dolphins! 🐬

Thanks to the resourcefulness of our PTA parent volunteers, we were able to safely hold our annual Lafayette Gives event on December 8th outdoors in our picnic area. We collected just over 50 blankets and made about 100 holiday cards which will be delivered to our local homebound seniors who participate in The Richmond Neighborhood Center's grocery delivery program. I'm so proud to be a part of this very generous and caring community. Thanks to all the parents and students who came out to celebrate with us. Wishing our entire Lafayette community, past and present, a very happy holiday season!🎄⛄️

The deadline to submit entries for the PTA Reflections Art Contest has been extended to Monday, December 13th.

The Scholastic Book Fair is here!

Visit our online book fair from November 15th-28th and help us to earn valuable Scholastic dollars which are used to purchase new books for our library and classrooms.

What a day! A huge shout out to all of our parent volunteers who made the return of our Halloween event a possibility. While it looked a bit different this year (outdoors, masks, no popcorn machine) we still had a great time and most importantly, so did the kids! Our PTA is lucky to work with such an amazing group of educators who support us in our efforts to build and strengthen our school community. Happy Halloween! 👻🎃
