This Saturday, July 1, 2-3pm, an indoor performance by the accomplished Echo's Bones woodwind trio (their name derived from a Samuel Beckett short story), whose original and fully improvised music lies somewhere between Debussy-like classical and jazz. Leader Sheldon Brown is a regular member of the touring band of Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. Heady and ear-friendly, not to be missed.

On Saturday, June 24, 2-3pm, musician composer Thomas Dimuzio returns to the SFPL Richmond branch for a Buchla synthesizer performance. Live otherworldly electronic sounds, from electroacoustic modern classical to experimental rock and ambient, by this contributor to The X Files TV series and remaster-er of classic horror soundtracks. An outdoor performance, echoing out into the neighborhood and stratosphere, not to be missed!

This Saturday, June 17, 2pm, live jazz by the Loren Means Quartet, with Means singing and discussing the music of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonious Monk and others. Means will be accompanied by Si Perkoff on piano, Ollie Dudek on bass and Tony Johnson on drums.
Loren Means has sung jazz throughout the Bay Area, where he has resided since 1962, organizing jazz shows at Artists’ Television Access, Savannah Jazz and Common Space SF. He has written jazz criticism and history for Down Beat, Contemporary Keyboard and the Berkeley Barb. And recently he introduced a screening of the documentary "Thelonious Monk: Straight, No Chaser" at the Richmond branch.
