Through our diverse academic, enrichment and recreation offerings the BACR Balboa After School Program helps teenagers become more active, engaged and and civic minded members of the community. YAWAV (Young Asian Women Against Violence) are looking for their Peer Leaders this year - and the application is out and running!
YAWAV is a safe space for high school girls to learn about topics like body image/self-esteem, sexual harassment, dating violence, r**e culture, etc. Peer Leaders meet Thursdays & Fridays after school to participate in workshops - and will later create their own workshops to educate their larger K-12 community. Being a Peer Leader is also a paid position.

Youth have access to free hot meals, academic assistance and innovative classes like 3D Printing, Silk Screening, and Carpentry.
