Camp 120 was launched on January 16th, 2017 as part of the Anti-Police Terror Project's 3rd annual #120hours of action. We demand that Mayor Ed Lee and District Attorney George Gascon hold their police officers accountable for the murders of the black and brown citizens of San Francisco. There are currently 11 pending cases against the SFPD, including a racist texting scandal within the department

From the Mission to Gascon's house: this week's vigil for Amilcar 02/08/2017

TOMORROW AT 6PM THE JUSTICE FOR AMILCAR PEREZ LOPEZ COALITION WILL BE HAVING THEIR WEEKLY VIGIL FOR AMILCAR AT THE DA'S HOUSE!!

"It's been almost two years since SFPD officers fired six bullets to Amilcar's back when he was running for his life.

Almost two years! And DA Gascon still has not charged the officers with murder, has not brought this case to court!

This Wednesday our weekly vigil moves to the DA's house!

In the spirit of the Water Protectors at Standing Rock, some of us will be praying that Gascon does what he knows is right.

But whether praying or not, our message--to him, his neighbors, and anyone who will listen--remains:
DA Gascon: Let us have our day in court! Charge the officers who killed Amilcar with murder!
Please join us!
When: This Wednesday, February 8, 6p
Where: Meet at the corner of Casitas Avenue and Cresta Vista Drive (near Mt. Davidson).

Or to carpool from the Mission:
Meet in front of Mission Police Station at 5:30 to hitch/offer a ride."

We pushed hard to get SFPD to fix these problems before Trump came to power. They didn’t. We knew Trump’s racist, anti-immigrant, and Islamophobic campaign promises would lead to FBI abuses aimed squarely at our communities and eventually at those who dissent. The threat of "Trump-intellpro" surveillance and targeting is real, and SFPD has to make sure that they do not become entangled with it in their FBI JTTF activities. We've waited long enough, and the SFPD hasn’t acted. Now it’s time to make them act. Ask the Police Commission to make them fix these problems now!

JOIN US AT A SF POLICE COMMISSION HEARING @ CITY HALL TOMORROW AT 5:30PM - TO DEMAND THAT SFPD FOLLOW OUR SANCTUARY CITY VALUES AND CIVIL RIGHTS ! SFPD works with Donald Trump’s FBI in its Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), but we have a strong law that protects our rights. WE NEED TO MAKE SURE SFPD FOLLOWS THAT LAW. SFPD officers work for us, not Donald Trump. If they want to keep working with the FBI JTTF during the Trump years, they have to follow the laws that San Franciscans passed to protect ourselves.

"Since 2012, we’ve been fighting hard to make sure SFPD follows those laws; we now have proof that they haven’t. In 2016, the Office of Citizen Complaints not only said that SFPD broke the law, but also said that SFPD officers weren’t even properly trained on the law. On top of that, it looks like the FBI might have been asking SFPD officers working in the JTTF to regularly break our sanctuary city law! "

Our local sanctuary law has been in place for 27 years. The Coalition for a Safe San Francisco worked for years to enact in 2012 the Safe San Francisco Civil Rights Ordinance, which applies all local laws and policies to SFPD officers, even when they are working with the FBI's JTTF. That means no religious, racial or national origin profiling, no sanctuary violations, no gathering of intelligence without reasonable suspicion of criminal activity and no violation of our rights to privacy -- not ever by SFPD, not even when working with the FBI.

San Francisco’s New Police Chief to Head Department in Troubled Times 01/24/2017

"San Francisco’s new police chief made it about five minutes into the job before a hand full of protesters tried to shout him down.

The demonstrators were quickly removed from the highly choreographed swearing-in ceremony beneath the City Hall rotunda Monday, but their message to William Scott was nonetheless delivered: Welcome to San Francisco — you have your work cut out for you."

New San Francisco Police Chief Sworn-In 01/24/2017

"It was as Scott spoke about the community's desire for reform that several protesters began shouting from the audience, calling out phrases including "Gascon do your job!"-- a reference to the slow pace of charging
decisions in recent police shootings under District Attorney George Gascon.

The protesters were quickly removed and Scott continued speaking through the interruption."
