AI is everywhere.
But where is it actually delivering value?

Join us on June 4 in San Jose for an honest conversation with two founders building AI products that do more than generate text — they solve real-world problems.

Following opening remarks by Swiss Consul General and Tech Ambassador Jonas Brunschwig on Switzerland and AI, JP Persico (Managing Partner, shuckerVC) will sit down with:

🔹 Kiran Prasad — tackling the complexity of family scheduling
🔹 Chris Pitchford — rethinking enterprise performance management

No keynote. No slide deck.
Just a candid discussion about what it takes to build AI products people actually use, what’s working, what isn’t, and where the technology still falls short.

🤔 What do a Swiss chalet, a foreign ETF, and a green card have in common?

They can all create unexpected tax consequences for U.S. citizens abroad.

We had a great evening with the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, hosted by Devan Friday at Spott, Lucey & Wall, Inc. CPAs, diving into the realities of cross-border taxation.

A few points that stood out:

→ Foreign bank accounts must be reported — and missing this can lead to significant penalties

→ Foreign investments (like many non-U.S. ETFs) can be heavily taxed under PFIC rules

→ Property abroad? Still reportable — yes, even your Swiss chalet

→ Gifts and inheritances from abroad are usually not taxed, but still need to be declared

→ Leaving the U.S. after long-term residency can trigger an “exit tax” as if assets were sold

Understanding the rules early isn’t optional — it’s what prevents costly surprises later.

BIG THANKS to Devan for breaking down the complexity with real-life examples and practical advice. 💪 🙏

🤩 Looking back at our event “Frontiers in AI, Health, and Longevity,” where we heard three powerful talks exploring how we can measure, model, and ultimately improve human health.

🩸 Blood as a window into aging: By measuring thousands of circulating proteins, researchers can estimate organ-specific age. Individuals with the “youngest” hearts showed lower risk of heart failure, while those with the oldest brains were up to 12× more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease. The next step: exploring whether targeted interventions based on organ age can help slow aging and reduce disease risk.

🤖 AI in biotech & drug design: AI-driven platforms are being applied across multiple domains — from antimicrobial peptide design to food and agriculture. A key focus is AI-designed cancer-binding proteins to detect genetic signatures and better match patients to therapies, with the broader goal of rapidly developing new biological products.

😴 Sleep, longevity & heart health: Sleep duration contributes to “heart age,” with around 7 hours appearing optimal. Deep sleep also plays a critical role by supporting the brain’s glymphatic system in clearing waste and toxins.

From blood proteins to AI-designed biology to sleep physiology — this was an evening highlighting how measurable signals are shaping our understanding of aging and health.
