Family House SF Young Professionals Advisory Council (YPAC)

Last week we hosted our first happy hour fundraiser of the year! 🍹

YPAC thanks everyone who came out, supported the fundraiser, and our incredible host and band!

We raised a lot of money for our families and could not be more appreciative of everyone involved! Special shoutout to for organizing! 🧡

Today we’re spotlighting YPAC member Elle Ternes Wood and her incredible photography!

Why Elle joined YPAC 🧡 “After moving to San Francisco last year, I wanted to find a local organization I admired and quickly get involved. I’ve always been passionate about children’s issues, and when I found Family House, it truly felt meant to be. The house is pure magic— the kids are joyful, fun, and inspiring. I feel so grateful to be a part of it through YPAC and my photography work!”

This month’s YPAC Member Spotlight is Alisha Kalra!

🧡 About Alisha: Hi, I’m Alisha Kalra. I live in San Francisco and I’m a creative and a preschool teacher. I studied design at Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York.

After moving back from New York, I now teach at Belvedere Nursery School preschool, where I focus on creativity, art, and building strong one-on-one connections with kids.

I joined YPAC because my coworker Cate Kneedly inspired me and made me feel so welcome, and because I truly believe in the mission and work Family House does to support children and families.

This month’s member spotlight is Marissa Mills! Marissa is originally from Orange County and graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 2024 ☀️ She currently works as a medical assistant at UCSF and in her free time she enjoys biking and exploring the city 🚲 Why Marissa joined YPAC: “I joined YPAC to get more involved in my community and because I think what family house does for these families is incredible and so important.”

So great to have everyone out to our first YPAC meeting and game night of 2026! Lots of exciting stuff in store for this group 🧡

HOLIDAY GALA RECAP ❄️ Earlier this month, YPAC co-hosted a holiday gala with .socialclub. Together we raised over $4,200 to support our families over the holidays! We want to give a huge shout out to SF Social Club for their support, as well as everyone who volunteered, donated an auction/raffle item, and helped to plan the event. We’re certainly ending 2025 on a high note and can’t wait to see what’s in store in 2026!
