Proud moment for Meals on Wheels San Francisco.
Today, our CEO Jennifer Steele is in Sacramento alongside Meals on Wheels leaders from across California, sharing a united message about what’s at stake for seniors in every community.
Together, they are sharing the importance of Meals on Wheels as a lifeline. Not just meals, but health, dignity, independence, and human connection for older adults.
We are grateful for Jennifer’s leadership and for our California colleagues who continue to advocate for policies and investments that put seniors first.

Home delivered meals and regular wellness checks help older adults stay safe, nourished, and connected to their communities. When seniors have reliable nutrition, safety monitoring, and human connection, aging at home becomes sustainable and dignified. Support services that meet people where they live help preserve independence and quality of life for thousands of San Francisco seniors.

When Jennifer Steele stepped into her role at Meals on Wheels San Francisco, she made a commitment to do more than deliver meals. She made a commitment to safeguard dignity, connection, and independence for older adults aging in place across our community.
This week, local legend Steve Young recognized that work by naming Jennifer his Hero of the Week on the Forever Young Foundation segment on KNBR. The honor speaks to the power of supporting seniors who often live alone, face food insecurity, or struggle with the daily tasks most of us take for granted.
