Currently in the US, the divorce rate is about 50%. In most of these cases, children are denied access to both parents, usually the father.

Studies have shown this to be detrimental to a child's developmental growth, and leads to many social problems such as teenage pregnancy, depression and su***de. Many people are unaware these problems until they are thrown into the system themselves. The only way to change the system is to increase people's awareness before they end up in the system, and start to work towards legislative reform.
