In light of Junteenth, join us for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and community, followed by a dynamic panel discussion featuring distinguished voices from across the arts, nonprofit, and public sectors.
Featuring a 45-minute panel conversation with renowned musicians, academics, writer, nonprofit leaders, and racial equity advocates exploring what coalition building looks like across culture, community, and government, centering Asian American perspectives on solidarity, civic engagement, and cross-community partnership. Following the panel, enjoy a special live performance by Dr. Scott Oshiro and Francis Wong, alongside the debut of a new music video for The Grant Avenue Follies, produced by Alonzo Rodriguez-Spencer — former Pixar documentary filmmaker and BayCAT alum.

For 152 years, Cameron House has been woven into the life of this community—thread by thread, generation by generation. And YOU are a crucial part of this beautiful tapestry.
The needs may have changed.
The programs may have evolved.
But one thing has remained constant: a steadfast thread of service.
Today, that tapestry continues to grow.
Each young person finds mentorship.
Each family receives support.
Each community member adds another thread to a story that is still being written.
Your gift is a thread—one that strengthens the fabric of care that holds our community together, meeting urgent needs today while building a stronger, more connected tomorrow.

Our Spring Give fundraising campaign has started! It is our last big fundraiser of the fiscal year. Donating during Spring Give is a timely way to sustain services to begin fresh in October without interruption, ensuring we can continue showing up for the community every day.
This Spring Give, we’re focusing on a common thread in Cameron House’s legacy: our social services.
For generations, from Margaret Culbertson and Donaldina Cameron, Tien Fuh Wu to Bessie Jeong and Marion Kwan, to the dedication of today’s staff, Cameron House has met the needs of San Francisco’s Chinatown in ways that are both delicate and unyielding. What makes this work special isn’t just what we offer—it’s how we offer it: culturally responsive, multilingual, accessible, and holistic support that meets people where they are.
Stay tuned for the stories we’ll share that connect past to present, highlighting the many ways Cameron House has remained bold and durable, even under tension. And, please, consider making a gift to Cameron House this Spring Give at

One of the many ways our Cancer Support Group stands out as special in Chinatown is the field trips we take the group on. These outings expose our participants to history and parts of San Francisco they may not have known before and gives them a physical, mental, and emotional respite from the burdens they carry on a daily basis. At Cameron House, our work goes beyond providing direct services. We aim to create meaningful life experiences that foster connection, genuine joy, and a strong sense of community.
Our cancer support group recently participated in a field trip to the Cable Car Museum, with 10 attendees, most of whom were ages 65–70. The visit offered a valuable opportunity to learn about how San Francisco’s iconic cable cars operate and their historical significance. Participants embraced the experience with enthusiasm, engaging in both hands-on and observational activities, even participating in an interactive scavenger hunt, identifying components like “The Grip,” locating route names, and answering questions about the system’s history and rebuilding.
“I loved this trip! I’ve lived here all my life and didn’t know half of what I learned today. This was such a fun day!” -Cancer Support Group Participant

Thank You, Sing Tao! Cameron House Acknowledged for Community Challenge Grant Award and Public Beautification Project
“In Chinatown, several selected projects focus on public art, space improvements, and community activities. Cameron House will improve an open lot on Joice Street by adding fencing and accessibility features, and plans to use it as a community activity space, including for outdoor movie screenings. The Chinese Culture Center will install an approximately 300-square-foot mural on the exterior wall at 667 Grant Avenue, with students participating in the design and creation. The project is expected to be completed before Lunar New Year in 2027.”

Cantonese Community Educational Workshop: Less Sugar Sweeter Life
April’s “Less Sugar, Sweeter Life,” brought together 15 community members, ranging in age from 40s to 70s. Through the workshop, participants learned that sugary drinks like soda can contribute to serious health issues such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cavities. Attendees were also guided on how to read and understand nutrition labels, empowering them to make more informed choices about what they consume.
Cameron House collaborated with the Department of Public Health to host a focus group to learn about Cameron House clients' knowledge and perception of the soda tax, their experience with chronic diseases and illnesses linked to soda consumption, and their priorities for how the soda tax revenues should be invested to achieve health equity. This is part of a larger project to gather information from people within the Soda Tax’s priority neighborhoods and populations and use that information to strengthen the policy.
