Recently, California officially pushed for legislation to establish May 17 as "California Bruce Lee Day" annually, to extend Bruce Lee's influence from the screen to the community and into the classroom, to continue redefining Chinese American and Asian American representation in history.
Bruce Lee was not only a martial arts and film superstar. He also represented confidence, perseverance, the breaking of boundaries, and cultural pride. Thank you to Assemblymember Matt Haney for your support in allowing this spirit to continue to be passed on and carried forward. Thank you to Shannon Lee and , , Claudine Cheng and , , and for your support in carrying on Bruce Lee's legacy and supporting this memorable occasion.

On Tuesday, it was my distinct privilege to honor Yau Kung Moon San Francisco, a pioneer of world-class lion dance in the city and internationally.
Yau Kung Moon (YKM) has operated for over 50 years in San Francisco, setting the gold standard of lion dance performances winning competitions locally and internationally. Their lion dances have been a highlight to over 43 Lunar New Year Parades, countless grand openings, celebrations, and cultural events. YKM's outstanding performances bring immense positivity, cultural pride, and hope to the community.
The current generation of YKM is led by three fierce and dedicated Masters: Susan Yee, the only female YKM master; Richard Ow, who has dedicated over 25 years to preserving and teaching YKM; and Norman Lau, founder of Lion Dance Me. Under their leadership, YKM continues to thrive and bring people together in unity and joy.

Thank you to the residents at Casa Colibri for sharing their stories and why it is so important to be able to access these services. Bringing the services to neighborhoods and community events is crucial. https://www.sfhsa.org/services/mobile-benefits-center
