Statement on the Boeing Strike
From the Left Party, we welcome the strike launched by workers in Boeing's Defense, Space, and
Security Division, seeking to improve their employment contracts. This is a massive company that
earns millions of dollars yet refuses to improve the conditions of its workers, who are periodically
forced to take industrial action, as was the case with the seven-week strike in 2024.
While we will always support workers against exploitative employers, we believe this is a good
opportunity for workers to begin discussing the need to convert aircraft and military supplies
production plants to civilian, scientific, and space-based production that contributes to development, not destruction.
We are currently in the midst of a global rearmament, where all governments and politicians are
embarking on a new, insane world war, which this time will not end one day later. We must stop this dangerous trend, and the workers of this industry play a key role in this task.
These are our demands:
• For the conversion to civilian aircraft
• For the restructuring of the entire military industry.
• No more producing weapons for war and death
• For the victory of Boeing workers

Statement
May 1st: On the warpath
The environmental catastrophe continues to advance: devastating fires, droughts, massive floods, massive hurricanes, plagues, contaminated water and land, desertified grasslands, genetically modified foods and medicines, among others, are multiplying, with their consequences on health and ecosystems, sowing death around the world. Entire villages are displaced, millions of people, and all the planet's species are being devastated. The apparent tranquility in some countries and cities is only a temporary illusion.
We are on the brink of a new world war, as the capitalists' profit rate cannot be maintained; it's only a matter of time, and there certainly isn't much time left. The difference today with the First and Second World Wars of the 20th century is that the imperialist nations declare they have 16,000 nuclear warheads, enough to destroy the planet a hundred times over. It won't be Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The unbridled destruction and slaughter in Ukraine, Palestine, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, among other nations, clearly demonstrate that capitalists have no qualms about destroying humanity if their profits decline. The concentration of global wealth in the hands of a few hundred millionaires is the flip side of unprecedented and growing poverty.
Survival and the most basic rights are in absolute contradiction with the current extinctionist capitalist mode of production. We are facing a crucial historical moment; the working class and the oppressed must stand up: either we overthrow the capitalist system, or it will completely destroy humanity, all species, and eventually the planet. It is urgent to organize all those affected in workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities to confront the capitalist offensive.
Those who call themselves revolutionaries have an urgent responsibility to take the lead; the time for reform , centrism, and pacifism is over. We must also build strong anti-extinctionist Revolutionary Combat Parties that will function as general staffs of the masses in the days to come.
For all this, on May 1st let us mobilize all over the world against the capitalists.
•For a revolutionary anti-war front.
•For community committees for disaster prevention and response, for the defense of immigrants, and for self-defense against reaction.
•Down with imperialism from all countries and continents.
•Out with state religions, politics and education.
•For a free, secular, multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and socialist Palestine.
•Down with right-wing bourgeois regimes.
•For a great world Anti-extinctionist Revolutionary Party.
•Down with capitalism.

*Carlos Petroni*
(8 de agosto 1947 - 13 de abril 2025)
Revolucionario. Organizador. Luchador. Mentor.

Carlos Petroni (August 8, 1947 – April 13, 2025)
Revolutionary. Organizer. Fighter. Mentor.
Carlos Petroni, a lifelong revolutionary socialist, internationalist organizer, and writer, passed away on April 13, 2025 at the age of 77. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he dedicated his entire life to the cause of the working class—not in abstraction, but in the mud, blood, and glory of real struggle.
A leader of the Morenoist current of Latin American Trotskyism and a close collaborator of Nahuel Moreno, Carlos helped build and lead workers' movements across Argentina, Central America, and the United States. From the underground PST during Argentina’s dictatorship to the battle-scarred terrain of the Nicaraguan and Salvadoran revolutions, he was never far from the front lines. He organized metal workers, printers, meatpackers, and social workers—not from behind a desk, but shoulder to shoulder, risking everything for justice.
In the wake of the 1973 Chilean coup, Carlos was involved in the covert evacuation of leftist militants, union leaders, and activists fleeing Pinochet’s regime. He personally helped many cross into Argentina, placing their safety above his own. Decades later, he would recount these stories to high school students—not as distant history, but as lived experience. His visits to classrooms were marked by urgency and principle, always reminding young people that what they were learning was not theoretical. It had a body count. And it had heroes.
Exiled under threat of death by the Argentine Anticommunist Alliance (Triple A), Carlos survived assassination attempts and emerged as a key witness in the historic trials that later exposed the right-wing death squads as perpetrators of crimes against humanity.
In the United States, he continued his work with immigrant rights, founded SF Frontlines, and ran for public office—not to win but to make socialism visible. He authored ballot initiatives, including the pioneering Proposition F for African American reparations, which garnered widespread support and attention long before such ideas entered mainstream politics. His pen names—Leon Perez, Nicholas Kramer, Simon Morales—were used not to hide, but to multiply his revolutionary voice.
Carlos was a founding member or leader of revolutionary parties on three continents, a builder of the International Workers League (LIT-CI), and later a founder of the Left Party in the U.S. He published newspapers, managed campaigns, and trained generations of organizers—many of whom, like myself, counted him as a friend, a comrade, and a mentor.
He was also a man of relentless humor, quiet stubbornness, deep kindness, and encyclopedic memory. He could quote Lenin, challenge a room full of liberals, recall a forgotten strike in Mar del Plata, and still remember your birthday. He never stopped writing, never stopped organizing, never stopped believing.
The revolutionary Carlos Petroni worked with special emphasis on building an alternative to barbarism, which not only includes environmental catastrophe but also humanitarian crises and waves of reaction around the world.
Carlos Petroni taught us that socialism is not a dream. It’s a duty. And we carry that duty forward.
Hasta la victoria siempre, compañero Carlos.
Yesterday, María Parisi passed away. She was a great comrade who for decades actively participated in each and every struggle of the exploited and oppressed against the capitalist exploitation imposed by all governments in the country and who stood in solidarity with all the oppressed around the world.
Until victory, always!

Full Support for Immigrants
With Donald Trump's rise to power and his campaign promises, fear and uncertainty have grown among many members of the undocumented immigrant community in the United States. The government has already expelled hundreds and sent some to the Guantanamo detention camp.
His pledge to tighten immigration policies and ramp up deportations is deeply alarming, making it urgent to organize and resist. However, we must not fall into the trap set by the Democrats, who now posture as allies of migrants despite presiding over record deportations and repeated violations of international asylum laws during their own time in power.
Furthermore, we must not view the government’s measures against migrants in isolation. These attacks are part of a broader assault on workers and the poor. Both Republicans and Democrats govern in the interests of millionaires at the expense of ordinary people. The only way to stop them is through collective organization—mobilizing in workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities to resist their offensive.
To achieve this, it is crucial for those who recognize the urgency of the situation to take an active role. When ICE, DEA, CBP, or FBI agents attempt to detain undocumented individuals, we must intervene—blocking their path, facilitating escape, or offering shelter in homes and businesses.
We must intensify protests against the government’s anti-immigrant policies, standing in solidarity with migrants and demanding work and housing for all.
-No more raids, arrests, and deportations.
-Immediate permanent residency and legal status for all.
-Dismantle ICE, CBP, and DEA.
-End Immigration Authority Section 287(g).
-Boycott companies that support Trump.
-Shut down Guantanamo and return it to Cuba.

Self-Defense For Survival
In the 21st century, rather than improving, the conditions of women worldwide are worsening. From the Americas to Oceania, from Africa to Asia and Europe, femicides, rapes, and abuses are on the rise. In some regions, we are witnessing a return to medieval conditions—where patriarchal subjugation and reactionary gender norms are enforced to cheapen women’s labor and reduce us to mere reproductive vessels by banning abortion.
This systemic oppression also extends to LGBTQIA+ people, who continue to face stigmatization, persecution, and murder. As it was before capitalism and remains under capitalism, our primary enemy is religion—one of the most reactionary institutions propping up patriarchy and class exploitation. Religious institutions serve as key ideological tools of the ruling class, ensuring the continued subjugation of women and marginalized genders.
With each passing day, it becomes clearer that capitalism does not bring progress; instead, it intensifies the exploitation and violence that have defined class society for centuries. We cannot place our hopes in the institutions of the bourgeois state—our liberation will not come from legal reforms or symbolic gestures. Now is the time to seize control of our own struggle, organizing independently to resist our deepening oppression.
The most urgent issue we face is the epidemic of femicide. Women must organize in our neighborhoods and communities, forming self-defense committees to protect those in danger and directly confront the perpetrators of gender violence.
Fortunately, many men recognize the severity of this crisis and reject sexism. We must call on these allies to take an active role in supporting our demands and mobilizing alongside us in the struggle against patriarchal capitalism.
Our Demands:
For the creation of women’s self-defense groups to combat gender violence.
No alliance with sexist, reactionary religions—abolish their influence.
Separation of religion from the state, politics, and education.
Free, safe, and accessible abortion for all who need it.
Unity among all oppressed genders in the fight against patriarchal regimes.
Down with capitalist patriarchy—an engine of war, exploitation, and destruction.
