Your vote is your power. Use it by June 2nd!

At BiSHoP, we work every day with immigrant families, seniors, and households fighting to stay housed in San Francisco. This June 2nd election matters, and here’s where we stand:

✅ YES on Prop A – Earthquake Safety Upgrades
San Francisco is an earthquake-prone city, where low-income and immigrant communities are more vulnerable to damage and building failure. Prop A passes a $535M bond to upgrade aging emergency infrastructure and seismic safety systems across the city. YES on A!

✅ YES on Prop D – The Overpaid CEO Tax
Prop D increases the Top Executive Pay Tax execs earning more than 100x than their median employee salary. This proposition would generate an estimated $250–$300M per year for the city's General Fund that can protect affordable housing programs and social services.

Some people are just interested in seeing expensive, high-end condos for the ultra-wealthy get built in San Francisco. We know from the daily we work we do with the community that's not going to solve the housing crisis we're in. While building a house is a crucial step, people getting housed involves more than million-dollar real estate deals and photo ops. To house the people, YES ON D!

❌ NO on Prop C – Tax Breaks for Companies
Prop C, backed by the SF Chamber of Commerce, would gut an estimated $30–$40M/year from city revenue and cancel Prop D if it gets more votes. Less city revenue means less funding for the social services thousands of San Franciscans rely on. NO on Prop C!

❌ NO on Prop B – Lifetime Term Limits (Mayor & Board Reform)
Imposing lifetime bans on elected officials removes the voice of voters to re-elect leaders who have proven themselves as champions of our communities. We need accountability at City Hall — but this measure limits our democratic power to choose, not theirs to abuse it. No on B.

Housing is a human right. Our communities deserve leaders and policies that reflect that!

STOP THE CUTS!

We’re standing with 150+ allied organizations in the in our call to Mayor Lurie & the Board of Supervisors to reconsider $100M+ in crucial resources for vulnerable families in San Francisco.

Our work is rooted in supporting San Francisco’s most vulnerable families with finding & securing safe and affordable housing.

The proposed budget from the Mayor’s Office cuts over $10 million from MOHCD (the Mayor’s Office of Housing & Community Development), divesting millions from funding for neighborhoods already facing ongoing gentrification and systemic barriers.

We are grateful to have been spared cuts this year. However, cuts to our partners will overwhelm our city’s support systems, which are already struggling to keep up with rising demand.

Restore cuts to community resources.
HOUSE THE PEOPLE!

A huge thank you to our friends at Urban Services YMCA for hosting us at their Western Addition location!

With the support of their staff, to whom we delivered a housing info session last month, we were able to connect and bring Affordable Housing & Rental Finance Basics to over 20 households in both Spanish & English!

Together, we’re working with partners like Urban Y to help more families access affordable housing and rental assistance, with language and dignity in mind!
