In case anyone is wondering...yes, Friends of Cabrillo Playground was a San Francisco Parks Alliance (SFPA) Park Partner. If you have been following the local news lately, you may know that SFPA has imploded pretty publicly and has taken all of the park partner's funds with it.
But many of the park partner groups have joined together to see if we can recoup our funds. There is a possibility that some generous donors might bail us all out.
Friends of Cabrillo Playground doesn't need for you to donate to us at this time. We had a pretty good balance left over after the renovation that we have kept in case anything we bought for the playground needed to be repaired or replaced.
I have written several grants over the years for the Dahlia Garden to buy tubers, fertilizers, the new fencing, etc.
We will just have to wait to see what happens.
But the park partners ARE organized.

Great news!! Both 38th Ave. and 39th Ave. between Fulton & Cabrillo are getting speed bumps to slow the cars near the playground. Big thanks to Mark DiGiorgio and Richard Rothman for 38th Ave. and Bette Matsuoka for 39th Ave. for jumping the hoops with the city to get the speed bumps. ALSO, after MANY years of asking (and begging) we now have a crosswalk at 39th & Fulton so people and their dogs can get to the Dog Training Area more safely. Hooray!!

I found a debit card for someone named Laura in the tree well in front of the Cabrillo Playground Dahlia Garden on 39th Ave. between Fulton & Cabrillo. If it's yours. private message me with your last name and the color of the card.
