URGENT ACTION NEEDED (Due 7/15 at midnight): Public Comment your OPPOSITION to the new proposed Asylum Rules and Regulations
COMMENT LINK: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=EOIR-2020-0003-0001 (click the "Comment Now" button in the top right corner to comment)
The administration has proposed a new rule that will fundamentally change our asylum system and restrict asylum access even further. If you've been following asylum updates under this president, you know that through a variety of policies, rule changes, and case law it has become nearly impossible to win asylum here in the U.S. This new proposal basically incorporates all of the previous ones into one, and if it goes into effect, it will put the lives of hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers at risk. For more information about the changes, read this article here: https://immigrationforum.org/article/the-trump-administrations-proposed-changes-to-the-u-s-asylum-system/
The last day to publicly comment in opposition to the proposed rule is 7/15 at midnight, so please comment ASAP!! The more comments we submit, the longer these rules will take to go into effect.
