Powered by PODER (SF), Bicis del Pueblo is a community bike program based in San Francisco’s Mission District that helps foster healthy, resilient neighborhoods and reduce fossil fuel consumption. Volunteers help SF residents safely explore the City through bike education and organizing.

At the inaugural Mission Repair Cafe, volunteers repaired 57 items, preventing over 200 pounds of material from entering the waste stream! If you missed it, save the date for the next Mission Repair Cafe on January 31, 2027.

If you find yourself catching sunsets this autumn, take a walk around Treasure Island and keep an eye out for Cormorants. They can be found year-round across the Bay Area and are easy to spot by their webbed feet, long necks, and dark feathers.

While you’re there, check out SF TIDA's Buckeye Grove rain garden that helps filter stormwater and protect the Bay!

This past Saturday, volunteers and staff came together on Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island to clean the coastline and restore vital habitat.

Together, the team:
🌿 Removed 15 cubic yards of invasive ice plant across 1,700 square feet, an area equal to about 5½ school buses or 40 king-size mattresses
🗑️ Collected 300 pounds of waste
♻️ Recycled or diverted 50 pounds from landfill

Help care for the San Francisco Bay this Coastal Cleanup Day! 🌊

Join SF Environment, SF TIDA, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, and the California Coastal Commission for our annual Coastal Cleanup Day on the islands!

We’ll spend the day removing invasive plants and picking up litter around Treasure Island. No experience is needed. FREE snacks will be provided!
