The children and teens we serve are out of school for the season which can put a strain on the working parents who are unable to afford childcare. This is where activities field trips, summer camps, dance lessons, or crafts are so helpful!

As we move into summer, childcare becomes a real concern for many families experiencing homelessness. When school ends, so do many of the safe, reliable spaces parents depend on while working and creating stability for their families.

That’s why year-round programs like this matter. They ensure children continue to have a safe place to learn, play, and simply be kids all summer long. 💚

is closing down Sacramento Street from 11am-2pm to bring in an amazing automobile showcase of vintage and contemporary masterpieces!

Children of Shelters seeks to support the more than 5,000 San Francisco youth experiencing homelessness by funding programs that focus on education, enriching experiences, and nutrition. We work hand-in-hand with our partners to help kids and families access what they need, experience joy, and build toward a brighter future—one step at a time.
