Comunidad. Familia. Liderazgo. Community. Family. Leadership. La Voz is a program of Tenderloin Housing Clinic.
La Voz Latina has been working to support the unique needs of the immigrant Latino population living in the Tenderloin since 2005. Members of the immigrant Latino community are especially vulnerable to workplace exploitation, housing insecurity, and police harassment. Their unique needs include workforce development, access to education (particularly ESL classes), immigration and legal support, an
d access to childcare. La Voz Latina serves as a neighborhood resource center where families and individuals receive low-level case management support (assistance with resume building, document translation, access to housing applications, referrals etc.) and, depending on the case, higher-level case management support (facilitated meetings between other providers, language interpretation support, advocacy, home visits, etc.). Additionally, La Voz hosts monthly community building events and community education workshops on issues of greatest importance/relevance to our constituency. Lastly, La Voz has a leadership development program which works to empower residents from the community to be vocal advocates for their community through political education, community organizing trainings, and skill development.
