BayREN’s Green Labeling program hosted an Electrification Luncheon and Induction Cooking Demonstration for realtors at the Culinary Institute of America at Copia’s Chuck Williams Culinary Arts Museum in Napa.
William Doran and Ryan C. Melendez from the County of Napa opened the event by addressing common myths about electrification and induction cooking.
With the help of a few volunteers, Chef Sky Hanka from CIA Copia led a hands-on demonstration featuring grilled chicken and sautéed mushroom risotto. The demo showcased the many benefits of induction cooking — including fast heating, precise temperature control, easy cleanup, and enhanced safety with a cooler cooktop surface and automatic shutoff features. The team also discussed the broader advantages of electrification, such as energy savings, improved indoor air quality, and sustainability. By the end of the session, even the most skeptical attendees were impressed by induction cooking technology.

Napa Realtors: Curious about induction cooking or want to try it yourself? William and Ryan from the County of Napa have portable induction cooktops available for you to test. Visit them at 1195 Third Street, Napa CA 94559 in the east wing to learn more (seriously!).
