Meet Jaime Martinez, our Diabetes Lead at St. Anthony's, and a 20-year cornerstone of this clinic 💙

Jaime works on the front lines of diabetes care in the Tenderloin, where food deserts, housing challenges, and limited resources make managing a chronic condition even harder. From patients who first learn they have diabetes through a non-healing wound, to families quietly navigating these realities every day, Jaime meets them where they are.

At St. Anthony's, that means integrated and whole-person care: therapists, case managers, community resources, access to food, and a place where every patient feels known and accepted.

We caught up with Carolyn while she was busy doing what she does best: giving back! 🧡 As a volunteer at our Free Clothing Program, Carolyn was right there on the floor, helping San Francisco neighbors find what they need with a smile. She's been showing up just like this since the 1980s!

One year ago, we met Robert while he was shopping for job interview outfits at the Free Clothing Program during Phase 4 of his recovery program at the Father Alfred Center.

Today? He's one of the first faces you see when you walk through our doors, welcoming neighbors as a CSS receptionist right here at St. Anthony's. This is what the full circle looks like 🙌

Meet Dorothy and Lee 🧡 We caught up with them in our Free Clothing Program, where Lee was picking out a new jacket and Dorothy was searching for a dress, just in time for her birthday! But their story goes so much deeper than a shopping trip.

After facing eviction and navigating 15 months of homelessness, Dorothy and Lee have leaned on St. Anthony's for support, and they've been part of our community for years. Dorothy since 2012, Lee since 2015.

From clean clothes and laundry services, to hot meals, computer access, and medical care at our free clinic, St. Anthony's is here to make sure no one has to face hard times alone. Lee said it best: having clean clothes, something that fits, something that feels yours – it restores dignity. Thank you both, for trusting us and sharing your story, and happy birthday Dorothy! 🎂
